Happiness & Manifesting

Happiness & Manifesting

When I hear the word ‘manifesting’ I often associate it with visualization.

Visualization is a powerful tool. I believe it can assist in healing – seeing yourself as well, whole & complete. I believe it can help you prepare for an event, or execute a particular skill (if you walk through the process enough times in your mind).

But what about when we use visualization to create a new reality?

‘You don’t have to visualize if you see what’s right in front of you.’ S.D.

Creation is a result of joy & inspired action.  Manifesting (for lack of a better word) does not bring you happiness. It is a result of being Happy.

Vision Boards

‘Vision Boards’ can be a fun visualization tool, however, if a vision board is filled with ‘stuff’ you believe will make you happy, does ‘not having’ those things make you sad? Does the vision board make you ‘feel better’? Does it give you hope? What if the items on your vision board never come into your experience?  Oh, here’s one – what if you acquire ‘something’ then lose it? Then what? Is your life less than perfect? Did you fail?

Absolutely not.

The Reverse Vision Board

I call this my “Reverse Vision Board”.

Rather than photos of things you would like to have, take photos of whatever is in your experience now that brings you joy. Tea cup, candles, wine, family, …. big or small. It doesn’t have to be of significance to anyone but You.

If you have a daily meditation or gratitude practice, this is a wonderful piece to incorporate.

Do not diminish the present moment by focusing on what you do not have. Look around you. S.D

The Happiness Factor

The Happiness Factor.

“Freedom is wanting nothing more than what you have right Now.  S.D.”

I woke up one morning a few months back (literally…’woke up’) and I was just overcome with this sense of joy & freedom.  I looked around my humble home, and had this this understanding that absolutely nothing in my life needed to change for me to be happy… Now.

Recognize that if nothing in your life ever changed (which it will….it always does) you would always be/do/have more than enough.  S.D.

Happiness is not contingent upon physical surroundings, a bank statement, a number on the scale….[insert your ‘I’ll-be-happy-when’ here].

Happiness really does come from within!  You can hear it a million different times, in a million different ways – until it clicks for you you’ll always feel like happiness is just out of reach.  When it does click for you – you’ll find that happiness is not attached to any one thing. It is a state of mind & heart and it can be cultivated in absence of whatever it is you think you need.

Lets Be Real

I am not saying that I haven’t had a crappy day since my little ‘aha moment’.  I am not always happy, but it is always there for me to choose.

Balance & Business

Balance.  What does it mean (feel like) for you?

Imbalance.  What does it mean (feel like) for you?

A couple of years ago, I took a business course.  I was excited to grow & eager to learn.

Problem & SolutionWhat is the problem?  How can I (or my product) be the solution?

My answer was, Balance. I help others create more balance in their lives”.  When I shared this response, I was asked to be more specific.

Ok  “Balance in Life. Balance between Work & Play. Balance of Mind, Body, Soul.”

Hmm. Nope.  I was prompted to really consider what exactly Valley EsScentials offered.

“Well, it depends on the person”.  (No. This wasn’t right either.)

We reviewed what people were most often seeking relief from in my field.

“Headaches. Stress. Digestive Health. Stress. Difficulty Sleeping. Stress. Not feeling Grounded. Stress. Anxiety. Stress.”   Do I mention the ‘Love’ or ‘Prosperity’ blends here? No. I better leave those for now.

After much back-and-forth discussion, I came up with ‘Natural Pain Relief’.  I think we were focusing mostly on migraines?  It still wasn’t great.  I was told to keep working on it.

I did keep working on it and every time I changed the language on my brochures, website or interactions into what I thought people were looking for, or into something more ‘specific’, it didn’t feel good.  Something was missing. I was missing.  I was focusing on the properties of Essential Oils & not necessarily on how I incorporated them into my practice.  I am a holistic Aromatherapist.  I use Essential Oils to Balance Mind Body & Soul.

There was nothing wrong with the course I took and there is nothing wrong with marketing & advertising.  I did learn & grow from the experience.  I just never quite figured out how to sum up ‘exactly’ what it is I do in 30 seconds or less (and I don’t solve problems – you do).

Here’s what I do know.  I blend for, and work with people ages 2-72 (give or take a few years).  I blend for a variety of conditions, symptoms, & wellness goals.  If I cannot provide support, I refer out to someone who can.  Everything I offer most certainly does depend upon the person and – I absolutely create Love & Prosperity blends.  What would life be without a little magic?

Three Simple Questions to Living Your Abundant Life

Three Simple Questions to living Your Abundant Life

When you are living life in abundance, it just flows.  It feels right.  It feels good.  You gain momentum.  You see growth. You’re happy.  You’re content…

When you are not living life in abundance, you can feel anxious, uneasy, fearful, angry, frustrated, apathetic, resentful….

Beyond Work, Career & Finances.

Although these things are important; living life in abundance is not just about money or career.  It is about how you live every single day.  Living life in abundance, as it is intended in this case, is also about relationships, quality of thought, leisure time, day-to-day routines.

Ask yourself these 3 questions & begin living your life in abundance – today.

  1. What is my Passion?

Ask this question often.  Remember who you are & what it is exactly you desire.

Is it my dream, or is it someone else’s?

Do I still love doing (a, b, c)?

What am I missing?

Is this bringing me joy?

Am I doing what I love?

How can I bring more of what I love most to the forefront of my experience?

What would I continue to do if I was never paid a dime or given any recognition for it?

Sometimes we ‘forget’. We can lose ourselves in relationships and the roles we play within our home & community.  For practical reasons, we may need to put our dreams aside temporarily.  Life always ebbs & flows, and that is okay – but it is important to ‘check-in’ regularly and reflect.

Ask yourself, ‘What do I love to do?’ What inspires me? What makes me happy?

  1. What is my purpose?

We all have a purpose.  A soul purpose.  A purpose that involves ‘waking up’.  A purpose that involves the greater good.  Purpose is beyond want & desire.  Purpose is what gives meaning & life to our dreams.  Ask yourself this question and then close your eyes and sit in silence and just ‘see’ what comes up for you.  If you are really struggling with this, go back to question #1 for insight – as there is always a link between what inspires you and what your purpose might be.

  1. How can I be of service?

Unity, community, humanity.  Essentially, what is it that you could be doing for others that draws upon your passion & purpose?  Work, career, day-to-day routines, hobbies, interactions, relationships.  How can you pull what it is that you love the most in life and offer that back out as a gift back into the world?

What is my passion?  What is my purpose?  How can I be of service? Jot below each question anything that comes to mind.

Inspired Action

When you have finished your list, go back and write down some of the steps you could begin taking today to ensure that you are living your abundant life.   Make a list for your day, week, or month.  Use a day timer & schedule your action steps as you would with any other priority in your life.

Having Trouble?

Firstly, you may want to consider the obstacles that are keeping you from doing what you love. Limiting beliefs.  Self-defeating thoughts or habits….

Secondly, the answers do not come from our head, they come from our heart.  Just allow whatever comes up for you to ‘be’ and jot it down…anything at all.  Even if it doesn’t make any sense or you’re not sure. Even if it is silly or embarrassing.  Even if you don’t think it is possible.

Essential Oils can be incredibly helpful during this process.  They allow you to draw in more insight & stillness.  They enhance your ability to ‘listen’.  For example, inhaling Black Pepper can slow that ‘mental chatter’ that often interferes with our ability to focus.  Grapefruit is a clearing oil and has been said to enhance clairaudience.

Other Essential Oils to Consider:

Peppermint – Purpose

Jasmine – Passion

Patchouli – Unity, Conscious Mind

Bitter Orange – Generosity & Prosperity

Still feeling stuck? See my example here.  Remember, it is a work in progress.  It can evolve, ebb & flow.  It doesn’t have to hold meaning for anyone but you.
