Aromatherapy FAQ

What is Aromatherapy?”

Aromatherapy is much more than just a pleasurable scent experience. There are therapeutic properties harnessed in each drop of oil that can shift the body toward a state of well-being. Plants, herbs and plant extracts have been used for their healing, cleansing, & detoxifying benefits for thousands of years. Aromatherapy is a tool that can bring us back to a state of harmony & balance. It is from this place that healing can begin.

Inhalation of essential oils can have a significant impact our emotional health as well as regulate various functions within the body. Aromatic molecules also are released into the blood stream via the lungs promoting health, harmony & ease.

Topically, Aromatherapy massage is an effective (if not the most effective) way to reduce stress, pain and inflammation. Nourishing oils and carriers are a beautiful way to experience this healing art.

Aromatherapy can produce a number of physiological responses; and the benefits are many.

Aromatherapy can:

  • Improve circulation and promote lymphatic drainage
  • Nourish & protect your skin
  • Relax and soothe stiff, tired, and sore muscles
  • Aide in digestion
  • Balance hormones
  • Improve memory, focus, clarity
  • Assist in management of food cravings
  • Alleviate symptoms of pain and discomfort (i.e., sciatica, lumbago, migraine, inflammation)
  • Bring about deep relaxation and relieve insomnia
  • Reduce stress, tension and anxiety
  • Stimulate your immune system
  • Promote a general sense of well-being
  • Increase energy and stamina
  • Be incorporated into, and deepen your spiritual practice
